What a party! Just six years since Sarah Brook founded Sparkle Foundation to feed, educate and provide medical support to vulnerable children in Africa's poorest country, Malawi, a milestone was reached last Friday with our inaugural Sparkle Ball at Braxted Park in Essex.
Amazing support; 323 guests for a black tie and sparkling evening of celebration and fundraising. The hosts, Braxted Park, donated the venue and other suppliers including my media company, M3 Media, donated their services pro bono and many others, including our fantastic band, The Earth Lights, heavily subsidised their performance.
Then we had an amazing auction in which generous supporters provided luxury holiday homes for a week and O2 Box for Queen's Rhapsody Tour. Coupled with an extensive silent auction, the combination raised over £90k from hugely generous bidders - enough money to invite many new children to Sparkle School and extend our community based projects in Malawi.
Sarah is an amazing inspiration. She's built a successful charity from scratch and has now realised her dream of helping over 10,000 vulnerable people. Now she leads a charity that's robust, has a really strong profile and will provide essential and sustainable support to those in need.
